Kodagu Classic Filter coffee
Description
Some mornings don't need reinvention. They need a proper cup of filter kaapi.
Kodagu Classic is our 80:20 coffee-chicory blend. The ratio that defines traditional South Indian filter coffee. We use Arabica for aroma and sweetness, blended with Robusta Cherry for body and crema, then add 20% roasted chicory for that thick, syrupy decoction that stands up to boiled milk.
Roast: Medium Dark
Coffee-Chicory ratio: 80:20
Bean origin: Kushalnagara, Karnataka
Grind: Medium-Fine
The roast date is printed on every pack. Not a "best before" date six months out — the actual day we roasted it.
Brewing guide
A starting point, not a rulebook. We understand that coffee is personal, its your cup, your call.
South Indian Filter Coffee
2 tbsp coffee · 1 tumbler decoction · 10–15 min drip
- Add coffee powder to the top chamber, fill halfway
- Pour hot water just below boiling to the brim
- Cover. Let it drip for 10–15 minutes
- Mix decoction with hot milk and sugar to taste
- Froth by pouring between two tumblers
- Enjoy authentic South Indian filter coffee
Ratios are a guide — a stronger decoction and less milk makes a sharper cup.
